Ingredients:
- 300g Plain flour
- Pinch of salt
- 175g Brown sugar
- 200g Unsalted butter at room temperature, cubed, plus a little for greasing
- 450g Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 1cm pieces
- 50g Brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Plain flour
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- 500ml Tub of vanilla ice-cream
Method:
-
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Add a few cubes of butter at a time and rub them into the flour mixture using your fingertips. Continue until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs and all the butter is well incorporated.
-
In a separate bowl, add the chopped apples. Sprinkle over the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Gently stir to coat the apples evenly without breaking it up.
-
Lightly butter or grease a Consol Glass Lisbon Rectangular Roaster 1800ml (1.8L). Spoon the apple mixture into the base of the dish, then scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the top.
-
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown and the apples are bubbling around the edges.
-
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Then, carefully scoop the crumble into 6 individual Consol Glass Farrago Jar 250ml with Gold lid, filling each one about halfway.
-
Top with a scoop of ice cream, add a spoon and serve your guests a warm, comforting jar of apple crumble perfection!
